Over the years, my path has been shaped by both service and creativity. I joined the military reserves in 2019, serving until 2025, with a deployment to Kuwait and Iraq from 2022-2023, earning several awards for my dedication and contributions. After graduating high school in 2020, I worked full-time in multiple different fields (automotive, aviation, safety, telecommunications, and insurance, to name a few) while continuing to pursue my passion for photography and filmmaking as a hobby. This creative outlet became a driving force in my life, and I eventually turned it into a business. Currently, I’m studying at Full Sail University, working toward an Associate’s in Digital Cinematography and a Bachelor’s in Visual Arts with a concentration in Digital Cinematic Imaging (DCI). Despite my professional and academic commitments, I’ve always stayed grounded in my values, being deeply family-oriented and valuing the support and connections that keep me motivated.
One of the most significant advantages of a solo-run digital media company is the ability to be incredibly flexible. Without a team or hierarchy to navigate, decisions can be made quickly and with agility. I have the freedom to pivot in response to changes in the industry or shifts in client needs. Whether it's adopting a new technology, altering a creative direction mid-project, or offering bespoke solutions tailored to a client's evolving objectives, the flexibility inherent in a solo operation allows for rapid adaptation. This is a stark contrast to larger agencies, which may have slower response times due to internal processes or multiple layers of approval.
Running a company as a single operator means the business is directly tied to my passion and vision. This level of personal investment results in an extraordinary dedication to quality and a deep emotional connection to every project. Clients often feel the difference when working with a solo entrepreneur—they see that the work is driven by someone who genuinely cares about the outcome rather than a detached team working on multiple projects simultaneously. This passion also fuels the continuous drive for self-improvement and learning, as I constantly seek to refine my skills and stay ahead of industry trends to offer the best possible service.
In a fast-paced industry like digital media, being agile is a significant asset. As a solo entrepreneur, I don't have to wait for approvals or cross-team meetings to make decisions; I can quickly adjust timelines, troubleshoot problems, or seize new opportunities. This agility translates into faster turnaround times, which is particularly valuable when clients need content delivered on tight deadlines. Additionally, it allows the company to be nimble in embracing new technologies, platforms, and trends without the bureaucratic hurdles that larger organizations may face when trying to implement changes or shift focus.
One of the hallmarks of a single-person-run startup is the ability to offer an intimate, one-on-one client experience. In many larger agencies, clients work with account managers or junior staff who are removed from the primary creative process. However, clients interact directly with me in a solo operation, ensuring their vision and feedback are always heard and acted upon. This personalized approach fosters more substantial relationships, builds trust, and often results in better understanding and alignment with the client's goals. Clients also appreciate knowing they are working with someone directly accountable for the project's success, which can lead to a more seamless and fulfilling collaboration.
Operating a one-person business requires a high degree of resourcefulness. With limited staff and resources, a solo entrepreneur often becomes a master of wearing many hats—handling everything from creative direction and client communications to marketing, finance, and technical troubleshooting. This constraint forces the individual to be innovative, constantly finding new ways to tackle challenges and maximize the value of available resources. Whether it’s through DIY solutions, leveraging free tools, or using unconventional techniques, the resourcefulness developed in a solo operation often leads to unique and creative outcomes that might not be possible in a larger, more resource-heavy organization. This level of ingenuity can set the company apart in terms of delivering high-quality results on a budget and often produces innovative approaches that other businesses might overlook.
